Noah is so funny lately. I feel like I could write down 20 things a day that crack me up. Here are a few from the past few weeks:
"I like those nuts called shoes(cashews) in the granola"
"I like a lot of egg juice in my eggs"
"more veggies in my soup please"
"maybe when I'm a father, and some kids are born from my wife, I'll get them some yogurt myself, because I'll be a big guy"
"I pray a lot of prayers. I pray so much prayers."
(as he writes pages and pages of letters)
Kevin, "you are a special boy"
Noah, "that's what i wanted to be!!!"
"Mommy I'm sorry I keep talking to you in a mean voice today"
"mommy, why is Jesus God's son?"
"do you like when the Holy Spirit is running inside your heart?"
and my favorite:
"is ruby rose going to come out of your butt?"

Noah learned to read
Last night while I was reading a story to him, Noah was asking about which words were which as he usually does. Then he pointed to the word "Jesus" and sounded it out on his own. I ran downstairs to get the home school readers for next year, and brought one up, and he read the whole thing! It was about Sam, Dad and Pat going to the beach :)
I feel like he completely started sounding out the words and reading on his own, and I was just here to see it! I am so grateful and excited to be able to teach our children at home. I believe it will be a blessing beyond belief for our whole family.

Ethan George
Ethan is growing so big! He has been communicating very much lately and his babbling has starting to sound just a little bit more like talking. He has started playing together with Noah in a different way, and there is a lot of little laughter in our house now. He has also been really funny when he wants his diaper changed, because he will walk over and get the wipes and a diaper and lie down on the ground until you notice him and change his diaper. He is such a busy guy with such a loving heart. I truly treasure him!
Noah's character
I have been so proud of Noah lately and his growing character. He has shown many examples of helping, initiative, and responsibility. Here are a few examples:
We were in his room the other day and his bed was unmade. He said, "Mommy, will you make my bed because I like it made." I said sure, and that I like all the books in the book bin. He immediately said, "I can do that!" and started cleaning up.
He has been taking special care of Ethan, putting his shoes on him and sharing toys much better lately, and asking Ethan what he needs when he is upset. Very sweet.
I was also very touched when I was laying on the couch the other day feeling very sick, and he started asking me to get his football helmet out of the car. He was asking and asking and whining and starting to throw a fit. I explained that I didn't feel good, and by whining and complaining about what he wanted he was putting his own needs before another persons. He was very quiet and then said, "I could pray for you" and prayed a very sweet prayer. When I said I was starting to feel better he said, "Well let's praise Jesus for that!" and didn't ask about his helmet again until I was ready to get it a few minutes later. I was so proud of his sweet and selfless shift in character.

the penis diaries
There seems to be an unusual amount of penis related situations going on in our house lately.
First, Noah was zipping up his pajamas and accidentally zipped his penis up at the same time. Luckily it came out undamaged a few minutes later, after lots of screaming and panic on his part.
Then a few days later we were driving and Noah yells from the backseat, "there is something wrong with my penis!" Kevin, of course, slams on the breaks and jumps out of the car moving faster than I have ever seen him move. Turns out it was not a huge deal, however, just "up when it should have been down."
A lovely and less frightening experience was when we were sitting on the couch and Noah simply yelled out of the blue, "STINKY PENIS!" Lovely.
