if you didn't think we were hillbillies before...
now we have proof! Last night we were out in the backyard, picking the delicious mulberries that were just discovered, when Ethan wanted to get naked. And Kevin let him :) Of course it didn't take long for Ethan to pee on the ground, which was so exciting for him that he wanted to do it again. For about the next 10 minutes, in between picking mulberries and shoving them in his face at an unprecidented speed, he would bend his knees, sort of push his belly out, and try to pee. Unfortunately he must not have needed to go, and he was getting very frustrated, so he continued by asking over and over in an increasingly frustrated way, "pee Mommy, help, help!!" It was so cute, but I couldn't do anything to help him.
Then all this delightful picking and peeing was ended by a less delightful scenario involving poop, which does not really need to be detailed in this blog :)

three little monkeys
Oh what sweet monkeys I have! It is absolutely amazing how big they are and I swear they are all getting cuter and more delightful by the day. One sweet face is even more beautiful than the next, and their love of giving and sharing and frequent kindness is completely inspiring. Also sometimes they are really crabby and whiny and challenging. They like to fight and scream and grab and hit and disobey and lie. But we are working on those aspects :)
It's been a while since I've given a big update, so here is the latest:
Noah has really become a big boy. He is absolutely nuts about drawing. Lately he has been really interested in motorcycles, and draws at least 10 a day. We still see a lot of sea creatures and rocket ships, but motorcycles have definitely taken the lead. He learned how to ride his two wheel bike, and has been very interested in doing tricks, much to Kevin's delight. Noah is showing signs of maturity in prayer, and has been praying in the spirit for the past few months. Kevin has been teaching him and inspiring him in so many ways, and it is really beautiful to watch his spiritual life develop. It is clear that he hears from the Lord. We are so excited to see all the things God has in store for Noah!
Ethan just turned two years old and he is blossoming before our eyes. He talks non-stop and repeats almost everything we say. He also copies Noah in word and deed all day long, which is really sweet. Ethan LOVES to read, and knows a lot of his letters by sight. He is very interested in Elmo and Cookie Monster. Ethan has begun to pray as well, and his prayer is typically this: "Father God, Elmo, Cookie. Amen". He offers to pray at dinner and prays the same thing every time. Ethan has a strong spirit, and is learning obedience. We have seen a shift in the past few months, and he is truly becoming an obedient young man. We are so proud of him!
And then there is our precious Ruby. She is truly just an angelic little princess and a dream come true. She has the most delightful personality, she is full of peace and joy and brings more of those things into the family. Her brothers are CRAZY about her, and love on her all day long. She has been sleeping through the night, smiling almost constantly, and just started cooing and laughing. Her presence in our family is such a tremendous gift. We are overwhelmed by the blessing that she is!
Stay tuned for more updates on the monkey's adventures!

iPhone
I've been working on shapes with Ethan and I just pointed to a rectangle and he said "iPhone". That's funny.
